As followers of my journey know, I fly as often as finances permit to maintain my pilot currency, even when it stretches my budget. Today, I’m sharing more about my flying because I need your support to continue making a difference through aviation. Over the next 120 days, I aim to raise funds via Indiegogo to advance my pilot training and serve more actively in the Civil Air Patrol.
Why I Need Your Support
My goal is to raise $20,000 to cover the costs of G1000 transition training and to obtain commercial and instrument ratings. Achieving these milestones will enable me to serve as a Mission and Orientation Pilot for the Civil Air Patrol, dedicating my skills to community service and emergency response.
My Aviation Goals:
- Commercial and Instrument Ratings: These are crucial for flying in varied conditions and are essential for advancing within the Civil Air Patrol.
- Civil Air Patrol Contributions: As a volunteer pilot, I participate in Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, Humanitarian Services, Air Force Support, and Counterdrug/Homeland Security missions.
The Challenges Ahead
Despite my passion and commitment, financial constraints pose a significant challenge. The Civil Air Patrol does not fund flight training, and operational costs are high, with plane hire averaging $100 an hour. Here’s what I need to achieve my next set of goals:
- Mission Pilot: An additional 55 flight hours, costing approximately $5,500.
- Orientation Pilot: Requires up to $8,500 in flight hours to meet the necessary criteria.
Impact and Vision
There is a critical need for more pilots, both for immediate mission needs and to mentor the next generation. By funding my training, you help:
