In today’s post, I’m just sharing a mix of personal updates and a few interesting tidbits from the aviation world. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.
Carenado’s Exciting Developments: For those who enjoy flight simulators, Carenado is currently working on several interesting projects for FSX and X-Plane enthusiasts. Noteworthy developments include a G1000 182, an SR22, and a TBM 850. These are all in the pipeline under their “Incoming Projects” section on the homepage. Definitely worth checking out for simulator fans!
DuraCharts – A Pilot’s Best Friend: DuraCharts offers durable, up-to-date sectional aeronautical charts that are virtually tear-resistant, designed to withstand the rigors of frequent folding. The print quality is exceptionally sharp and clear, making them a top choice for discerning pilots. Available by subscription or individually, you can order these indispensable navigational aids from their website or contact Gil Stimson directly at gil@duracharts.com for more details.
Middlesex Valley Airport Shows Appreciation: A small token of appreciation came my way from Middlesex Valley Airport—a free breakfast coupon and a donation. This was in thanks for a gratis website I set up for them a few years ago. If you’re in the area, consider grabbing breakfast there and enjoy the ambiance of this charming grass field with friends.
Personal Health Update: On a personal note, I recently received my biopsy results, which thankfully came back benign. Although the tests set me back $520—money that could have gone to my flying budget or other expenditures—I’m grateful for the good news. It’s important to focus on the positive, and I’m ready to move forward.
Canandaigua Airport Innovations: I’m currently working on monetizing the Canandaigua Airport website to add more value for visitors. Plans include a new “For Sale” section for aircraft listings and opportunities for banner advertisements on the homepage. Additionally, Thomas Road was closed on July 27 to facilitate runway extension works. I’m also close to releasing a Canandaigua Airport BGL scenery file for Microsoft FSX, featuring an extended runway based on precise GPS measurements.
