It’s been seven years since I earned my pilot’s license. While I can’t consider myself a novice, my flying activities have been limited lately, leading me to a decision—I won’t be updating this blog for the foreseeable future.
Obtaining a pilot’s license is a significant personal achievement. However, financial constraints, primarily a lack of disposable income, have prevented me from pursuing this passion further. On a more personal note, life has been full of changes. I’ve remarried, gained two wonderful stepchildren in their twenties, and am preparing for a move to Corning, NY in June 2015.
My own sons are growing up fast, with the eldest in college and the youngest set to start this fall. Prioritizing their education is crucial to me, and rightfully, this means putting aside personal luxuries, including flying.
Looking ahead, I envision returning to the skies when both boys have graduated from college. By then, I’ll be 55—old enough to know better but still young enough to learn new tricks.
Until then, blue skies to all!
